MEET ASHLEY
Ashley has worked with Berkeley County First Steps since 2022. As lead QE coach, her primary area of specialty is healthy, safety, and child care licensing. Since she took her role, she has worked with child care centers to lower their citations with the South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS) child care licensing division. The centers have also shown improvement on classroom and parent engagement, received materials to improve the quality of their classrooms, and attended events to address literacy, mathematics, and social & emotional health. Prior to joining Berkeley County First Steps, this avid reader worked with South Carolina DSS for eight years, serving as a foster care manager, foster care licensing specialist, and child care licensing specialist. Previous to that, she worked for four years with the Child Development Education Pilot Program of the South Carolina Department of Education. Ashley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Francis Marion University. |
