MEET RENEE
Renee has worked as a parent educator with Berkeley County First Steps since 2022 but is no stranger to the field of children's education, having enjoyed more than 40 years of service as an educator deeply committed to the very young. In 2023 she was recognized with Parents As Teachers' Milestone Award for 20 years of service. "Working with Parents As Teachers allows me to collaborate directly with parents in an environment they find emotionally and psychologically safe," she says. "Meeting parents and children where they are is a critical part of what I do." In addition to home visitations, this "cool granny" organizes and facilitates a wide variety of Berkeley County First Steps educational events and community events. In her spare time, she serves in a variety of leadership roles for her church. She is currently first vice president of its Missionary Society and co-chair for its Creative Arts Committee. Renee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood and elementary education from Claflin University. |
