MEET SIMONE
Simone has worked with Berkeley County First Steps since 2020. She works as the Parenting and Community Support Director for the Parents as Teachers Program, where she manages the programs daily operations and serves as a liaison between the local affiliate and the South Carolina State First Steps PAT office. Prior to this role, Simone served as Lead Parent Educator and Nurturing Parenting Program Coordinator. “Every child deserves to arrive at school healthy, safe and eager to learn," she says. "Because learning begins in the womb, it is important that we engage families as soon as possible, so that they can be provided the support and resources they need.” This native of rural Berkeley County was awarded the What Women Bring award in the healthcare category from YWCA Greater Charleston in 2022 for her work as a community doula and birth advocate. Simone holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the College of Charleston. |
